High Tatras

The High Tatras are the highest mountain range in Slovakia and Poland and the only one in the region with the character of alpine peaks. They cover an area of approximately 341 km² and attract visitors with their unique nature, high peaks, beautiful valleys and lakes.

The most famous tourist-accessible peaks of the Slovak part include: Svinica (2301 m), Rysy (2503 m), Kriváň (2495 m), Kôprovský štít (2636 m) and Jahňací štít (2230 m).

In most valleys, we can find glacial lakes and ponds. The most famous include Veľké Hincovo Pleso, Štrbské Pleso, Popradské Pleso and Morské Oko, which are popular destinations for tourists and cyclists.
